I’m just the curtain girl.
My job is to stand side stage and pull back the curtain so you can can see God’s glory. Sometimes I do the job poorly. But making God look good and glorious and big is my aim.
That’s what JoyfullyPressingOn is all about.
I’m so glad you stumbled onto JoyPrO My other address is in a hickory grove in southeastern corner ofWisconsin. I grew up surrounded by sunny farm fields, but right here’s where I fight the good fight of faith and where I sometimes fail and fall. But God is good and I get back up and st
alk the sun and run and bike to get my fix of light.
Then I write. I write for us who know the Christian life is a fight for faith and hard run race. Who know hard pressed, but not crushed and perplexed but not in despair. Who carry around the treasure of the Gospel in a clay pot. For us who rest in Christ and strive to rest and work out because God works in. But, Good Lord, is there joy in the journey!
JoyPrO exists for that- to share joy I keep finding, the soul-satisfying bread He keeps feeding me as I press on to know my God. I write for our progress and joy in the faith. I want you know the joy, friend. I want you to be strong in the Lord, and the strength of his might. I want your heart to be strengthened by grace.
God is on the move. His eyes are just now roaming the earth seeking hearts to make strong. Now. Seeking. To strengthen YOUR heart. He found mine and He makes it strong. Strong to press on and forgive. Strong to press on and work hard. Strong to press on and seek peace. Strong to press on and speak truth. Strong to press on and repent. Strong to press on and risk for Him. Strong to press on and sit loose. Strong to press on and give grace.
No mistake: Life is hard. But God is good and gracious. His grace is not sentimental. It’s sufficient and strengthens us and teaches us (2 Corinthians 12:9, Hebrews 13:9,Titus 2:12).
God unveils my eyes to see Him and his new mercies day by day. That’s the challenge of my life: to see and savor the Savior. Beholding the glory of the Lord, we are transformed into the same image, from glory to glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Eternal life starts now. Knowing Christ Jesus my Lord is my life’s goal. Making Him known is what this blog’s about. In all- in marriage and parenting, in teaching or speaking or blogging, I press on for our progress and joy in the faith, that comes from growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.
Not that I have already obtained this or am already made perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. And if these dull heart-eyes can see, and these feeble weak knees can press on, then, by grace yours can too.
Where God meets me and teaches me, and shows me more of His glory, believe me. I’ll be jotting it here at JoyPro. Onward and upward!
To the praise of His glorious grace,
